There are countless ways to make fishing more interesting, mostly because humans have been working on ways of doing that ever since the concept of fishing itself was born. In Ice Fishing, as you can imagine, you get a big change of pace from your run-of-the-mill lakes and rivers, as you set off to catch fish in one of the most dangerous places on Earth: beneath layers of frozen ice. In Ice Fishing the controls are somewhat different from what you are probably used to in fishing games, but it does it make it much more interesting and challenging. Your character is standing next to a hole he probably drilled himself, and you can see the fish swimming under it. Whenever a fish reaches the hole, you need to click and hold the left mouse button while moving the mouse down, which in turn will make you drop your hook. Once the fish has been caught, simply do the same thing but move your mouse upwards. You only have a limited amount of time so make the most of your chances.
